The Washington Street Association Board has proposed an updated and simplified version of our bylaws to better serve our community’s needs. These revisions are designed to streamline operations, clarify board member roles, and reduce formalities to align with the size and goals of our organization.
Key changes include a focus on essential board roles (Treasurer for financial oversight, Secretary for record-keeping, and General Board Members for support and decision-making) and a rotating chair system, allowing each board member to take turns facilitating meetings. Additionally, digital tools will now be used to enhance communication and document sharing.
Members are encouraged to review the full proposed bylaws, which are available for download below. We will be collecting votes on this proposal at our Annual Holiday Party on December 5, 2024. This is an important opportunity to shape the future operations of our association, and we welcome your input and participation.
